Second attempt to dress with less stress<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
I kept thinking about this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love the challenge of traveling with the least amount of luggage. Just for fun really. As a result I didn\u2019t have to check in luggage and wait at the other of the flight for my suitcase to turn up. It came a sport to travel with as little as possible and still be comfortable. I loved this new simplicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Traveling with my minimal wardrobe made me realise that I had way more clothes at home than necessary and good for me. It can be so easy to choose what to wear. I always bring the clothes that are the most comfortable and I love to wear. I don\u2019t mind at all to wear them again and again, because I love everything I have in my suitcase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every time when I come back at home I am surprised that there are so many items in my wardrobe I did not miss, not even when I left home (and my extended wardrobe) for a year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Get dressed like you do when you are on a holiday<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Why is getting dressed when you are on holiday so much easier, less stressful? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because there are less choices\/ options. You love everything there is in your little suitcase wardrobe. It does not really matter what you are going to wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While there seemed too little in my wardrobe, years ago, it turned out I had too many choices<\/strong>. The actual opposite…I had too much in my wardrobe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How to get to a big enough, exciting smaller wardrobe you will love in 6 steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1 Take everything<\/strong> out of your wardrobe, put on your bed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2 Sort<\/strong> in categories. ( all long sleeve t shirt together, all short sleeve etc. ) <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3 Now choose all your favourites of the current season<\/strong>, e.g. summer. Put them apart, sorted in their categories; short sleeve tops\/long sleeve tops\/ pants\/skirts\/….etc..<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4 Imagine<\/strong> you are going to work and live somewhere else for two months.<\/strong>( You can\u2019t pretend you are packing for a holiday as you will need your working clothes. ) Make sure you can combine the pieces you choose. E.g. three tops that go with one pair of pants. Put the pieces that make your favourite combinations back in the wardrobe. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 5 Everything else, that you think you can live without the next two months, you put in the bags\/boxes\/bins, and store away.<\/strong> Store them far enough away to make it a hassle to get to it in them morning when you get ready to dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 6 Now test<\/strong> your smaller wardrobe the coming months. Adapt to your needs. If you put away too much, take out only the pieces out of storage you remembered\/missed.
